"Descend" is a verb that can be paired with countless nouns. Choosing this word as the title for this photo series is precisely because of these endless possibilities. The Earth descends into the universe, the Creator descends upon the Earth, and each of us descends into this world. Yet, as humanity recklessly destroys the environment, murky air descends, polluted rivers descend, and inevitably, disaster descends. It is only when disaster descends that humanity might finally halt its destructive march and contemplate where we are heading.
