Connection to the Absent

Graduate thesis project . The tombstone establishes a mediated connection between the living and the dead. Rather than enabling direct communication, it reveals mediation itself as a form of connection.
Through mediation, presence is sensed through absence.

Temporal Convergence—The Eternal Answer

This work uses the human-machine battle in Go as an entry point, and explores the unchanging answers that humans have had in the face of evolution for thousands of years by asking how humans should face the gradually surpassing artificial intelligence. At the same time, the narrative is unfolded through the collision of change and immutability.

Feeling the Feelings of Plants

This project encodes sound from plant sensations, offering a rich, human-perceivable simulation of how plants feel. The approach is designed to foster a deeper understanding of nature.

简 JIAN

Undergraduate thesis project. Users can generate their own unique landscape world by interacting with prayer beads. Enter the space, begin meditation, relax your body and mind, and enter your own world.

Hao Bai Apartment, Building B1, Unit 1808

Framed by the last two minutes before midnight on Chinese New Year’s Eve, this first-person journey leads visitors through Ethan’s grandfather’s home, where memory mechanisms flicker to life. Amid brief disorientation, the Spring Festival Gala and the holiday’s collective aura help visitors find their own ties to the space.
