Design brief

Undergraduate graduation project. Users can generate their own unique landscape world by interacting with prayer beads. Enter the space, begin meditation, relax your body and mind, and enter your own world.

Inspiration

I have grown a lot during my four years in university. The most important thing is learning to draw strength from nature while pursuing inner strength within myself. As my graduation project, I believe that letting the audience meditate is a way to allow them to experience the feelings I mentioned above.

Theme

Water: The imagery of water sets the tone for the entire work. From water, the metaphors of flowing and formlessness are derived, while also extending into an artistic style of ink wash and black-and-white textures.

Silence: The entire experience is silent because the audience needs to be fully immersed in meditation, so all guidance is presented in text form.

Prayer beads: Prayer beads are the interaction point of this work. Prayer beads themselves play an important role in meditation, such as helping the meditator stay focused and coordinating breathing rhythm. Therefore, this setting is not abrupt and allows the audience to interact with them naturally.

Buddha's Shadow: Buddha's shadow is the shadow left on the wall by a monk after passing away. When the audience enters the space to meditate, they will cast a shadow on the wall, a metaphor for Buddha's shadow. This represents the audience entering a new realm of the heart through meditation.
